Kid-focused, Reliable Supervision Services you can Trust

At Child Focus Supervised Visitation, we know how important it is to you that your children maintain a positive, healthy, and growing relationship with each parent — even in the face of difficult family transitions where safety and security are paramount. Traditional supervised visitation services were created for that reason, but they often miss the mark simply because of the environment they are limited to. Imagine for a moment that you can provide the same level of safety and offer your child the ability to have those visits at a local water park with mom or at the batting cages with dad.

We work with all levels of court-approved stipulations while guaranteeing your child doesn’t get the short end of the stick.

What is supervised visitation?

Supervised visitation is a generic term that describes parent/child contact overseen by a third party. It is also a term for contact be-tween a non-custodial parent and one or more children in the presence of a third person, in which the only focus is the protection and safety of the child and adult participants. You or another party may have requested supervised visitation as a necessary step for:

  • When one parent is verbally or physically abusive but still has visitation rights
  • Concerns over one parent taking the child against court orders
  • Providing safety around a parent with a mental illness, drug abuse or alcohol problems, etc.

Our providers maintain an unbiased, objective, and balanced environment. When providing the service, we won’t take a position between the parents in providing the service. Providing service in a neutral manner is intended to ensure respect for all individuals in their capacity as parents AND to protect children who are attempting to remain in contact with their parents. Being neutral does not mean providers disregard behaviors such as abuse or violence of any kind.

Location: Denton County
(outside Denton County minimum 4 hours and additional mileage fees apply)

Our list of supervision services includes but are not limited to:

Risk Assessment

We conduct a thorough review and analysis of historical information and observation of behavior to decide whether or not there is a match between the probability that a client will exhibit dangerous behavior and the capacity of a provider to manage that behavior.

Observational Supervision

There is a two-hour minimum for this service. The provider will review the environment’s safety, take note of parent-child interactions (verbal and physical), and how the parent is tending to the child. We will also pay attention to the parent’s attitude toward the child and whether or not they are on-time with diaper changes, feedings, cleanliness, etc.

Off-Site Supervision

Supervision of parent and child contact that occurs away from an unfamiliar facility that is under the management of the provider. Examples of off-site supervision locations include restaurants, libraries, shopping malls, movie theaters, parks, swimming pool complexes, amusement parks, and indoor game facilities such as bounce houses and fun zones. The entrance fee for the supervisor is paid for by the client. We follow all stipulations related to your case.

Residential Supervision

Residential supervision is conducted at an agreed-upon residence, whether it be the home of the non-custodial parent, a grandparent, or someone else. Our court-appointed supervisor conducts a pre-residential inspection and, when necessary, submits corrections that must be made for safety compliance. The residence must meet specific safety standards and satisfy all final court-ordered requirements to be considered safety compliant.

Supportive Supervised Visitation

Contact between a non-custodial parent and one or more children in the presence of a third person, in which the court-appointed monitor or supervisor is actively involved in promoting behavioral change in parent/child relationships. Supportive supervision may also be referred to as directed, educational, or facilitated visitation.

*The provider reserves the right to terminate services if the contractual agreements are broken and/or there is a safety concern. While parents are responsible for their own behavior during supervised visitation, a provider may hold a parent accountable for their behavior by ensuring that the parent follows the program policies and procedures, the court order, and the signed service agreement.

**Parents are responsible for the child’s care and the child’s belongings during supervised visits, subject to any contrary order of the court.

"I Am So Grateful I Found Amy!"

"Amy is invaluable. She is super down to earth and is a mom herself so she understands how important these visits are. She has made space for my child and I to feel comfortable to be our goofy, playful selves. When life happens and things haven’t gone exactly as planned, Amy has been gracious and understanding which has been such a relief. She has put her day on hold to help reschedule in a pinch, even though it was an unexpected and difficult situation. Amy also helps to corral me and my child at the end of each visit, which of course isn't her responsibility but is very thoughtful and super helpful since all I want to do is focus on my little one. All of this has ultimately contributed to each visit with my child going smoothly, which is the most important thing. I am so grateful I found Amy, and very highly recommend her!"
